Candles.
Andrássy út in Xmas lights.
This is a strange but beautiful plant from the so called Australian section of one of the most beautiful gardens of Budapest (entrance is HUF 600).
A walk in the warm Budapest spring afternoon.

This picture was taken in Királyutca from one of the few playgrounds left in the VIth district. Rumour has it the local government will sell the terrain for property developers. I’m suspecting another “success story” here.
Vintage toys from the flea market “Ecseri”.
All Hungarian kids had one of these teddy bears.
Boys were crazy about this simple metal set.
Sellers always complain, there’s always room for some bargaining (often up to 50%) but it’s difficult to get something really nice for a good price.
This is one of the covered rows of 3.
Andrássy street’s been recenty added a glamorous look by opening of so far missing luxurious designer stores and facelifts are being made constantly, although not quickly enough if you ask me. Kodály Körönd has one of the most gorgeous building clusters of the city and one of them is currently undergoing rooftop restauration works. I [...]
Fidesz is Hungary’s chamaleon party currently being the most popular in a country where normal people are fed up with politics. FIDESZ’s headquartered in this nice early XXth century building in the Hősök Tere neighborhood ever since their widely criticized sale of their previous HQ in the early 90’s.
In the background, the Museum of Fine [...]
This picture was taken in the Budapest banking district. Quite appropriate I believe, Hungarian Forint lost 7% of its value today, my treasury bonds have no market and the stock exchange’s main index fell more than 10%.
This building is located by the Momotaro Ramen restaurant, which I strongly recommend for locals and tourists. You can [...]
I think this is the “legendary” Pannonia motorcycle produced during the heights of the socialist era. This item may be original or a replica - I would vote for the first although the engine block seems quite new. Anyway, they’re planning to relaunch the brand combining the old image with 21st century technology. I’m curious [...]
I always complain about Budapest’s missed opportunities and one of them is definitely exploring better its historical spas. This recently refurbished spa is located in one of the largest and most amazing parks of the city (not that that there are too many of them… - yep, another complaint, in case you would be counting).
This [...]
A shocking memorial of Jews shot dead into the Danube river during the end of WW2. The shoes are now located at the Pest bank of the river overlooking the Buda Castle Dirtrict.
This building is located by the Danube river with an excellent view of the castle the opposite side of the river. It’s currently being rebuilt but it’s as ugly as it used to be.
This is the recently renewed Pesti Vigadó building viewed from the Danube. The state-owned building is under protection and it’s located at one of the most prestigious places, the Vigadó tér.
I had some pictures published of this building cluster of the Erick Van Egeraat studio 3 months ago when I started up this blog. Being a fan and not being able to take good picture lately, I’m publishing an old one of one of my favorite architecture themes of Budapest.
This photo was taken in the heart of Budapest: 300 meters from Chain Bridge, from Szt. István Basilica, 100 m from Andrássy street. It’s a socialist realist nightmare. Kind of cool though.
