I haven’t been posintg here for a while but I’ve been busy launching an online restaurant guide to help tourists and ex-pats in Budapest to avoid tourist traps in gastronomy (yer, there are so many).
I consider myself a conscious consumer and I believe that visitors coming to Budapest have a level of sophistication so that they deserve better than a typical goulash, töltött paprika or paprikás csirke served in most restaurants. Unfortunately for tourists, most good restaurants in Budapest have international cuisine and only very few of them offer quality Hungarian food, especially those not located near easily accessible tourist spots.
There are some however which deserve Your attention and I indicate these by tagging them and creating separate category such as “top tourist pick” or “recommended for tourists” (please note however that most of these too are international and not typical Hungarian restaurants).
