Strange boats.
The old factory buildings provide an excellent contrast to the lively garden which is Kopaszi-gát today and its XIst century buildings. I can only hope that both will remain intact for a long time.

Play a nice track while visiting
Hungary’s industrial output is declining again, according to the latest official economic data. This factory was closed long before the credit crunch hit the country.
These robust machines which once lifted and moved heavy objects are still impressive, seen from 10 meters below.
Fortified walls.
There’s no traffic in the area any more, [...]
I saw this old timer car parking in front of Iguana restaurant in downtown Budapest. The engine’s sound was quite nice too.
I think this is the “legendary” Pannonia motorcycle produced during the heights of the socialist era. This item may be original or a replica - I would vote for the first although the engine block seems quite new. Anyway, they’re planning to relaunch the brand combining the old image with 21st century technology. I’m curious [...]
… and mirror image of the Parliament. This is metro line no. 2, one of 3 altogether in Budapest. The no.1 was actually the first continental underground in Europe, if I’m not mistaken.
This is the house and the logo of the former state monopoly on Hercegprímás street, 5th district (downtown). The building is currently empty.

Szimpla Kertmozi is a partly open-air movie theater, today mostly frequented by university students and other intellectuals. It is [...]
These 2 images were shot for the VFXY weekly theme “reflection”. I missed the deadline though, but I like these images. Because they’re so Austrian to me. This building is part of the Gasometer cluster’s complementary block in Wien.
This is supposed to be a Budapest photos blog, but this is my favorite building in Wien, only appr. 260km from Budapest, and with all the history and existing similarities in architecture I think it’s reasonable to share this photo here. As well as the Bratislava photos.
This old railway bridge in Bratislava - out of service as it seems - is simply gorgeous in my opinion. The other bridge right beside this one is still in use by vehicles.
The following picture shows the same bridge from a different angle.
These are photos of the old thread factory in Budapest (Buda, actually) renovated few years ago then abandoned and today an office building. Their website also worth a look: http://www.dorottya.net/
