… and mirror image of the Parliament. This is metro line no. 2, one of 3 altogether in Budapest. The no.1 was actually the first continental underground in Europe, if I’m not mistaken.
Yep, Farger is right behind this.
The building on the left is a bank. The other one is residential. All located on Szabadság tér, by the American embassy. And by Farger coffe shop, which features a very cute dog, good bagels, cakes and coffee.
I know it’s weird, but somehow I think it’s kind of cool.
This is the house and the logo of the former state monopoly on Hercegprímás street, 5th district (downtown). The building is currently empty.
A typical building from downtown (Vth district), but one of the few with a view to the river and the Buda Castle across the Danube. By the way, if you would be visiting Budapest, I recommend that you take this tram (Nr 2) and you go on it from one end to the other. You [...]
You can find more information about Szimpla Kertmozi in this post.
These 2 pictures were taken at the entrance. The first one is an installation located at the entrance corridor. The second one (below) seems like a home interior from the 70s. And it is probably: this room could have been the janitor’s room and they [...]
This is just a regular new building (on Szabadság tér btw). If you click below however and check the next one, you’ll see a wall and inside the building another one, the first currently being supported by a steel structure. You can spot some of this type in the city today. I only can hope [...]
Barbecues in Hungary are very popular. But I took this photo just for the sake of it.
These iron balls represent bullets shot on the building of Budapest Ministry of Agriculture during the revolution in 1956. This is not a political statement by me, I was interested in taking a shot of these solely from an artistic point of view.
The whole city (building walls) are full of bullets mostly from WW2 by [...]

This amazing building is located right in front of Lánchíd (better known abroad as Chain Bridge) on the Pest side. I remember this having been an old, abandoned deep gray building before its privatization in the late 90s. Today it’s one of the most glamorous buildings in Budapest and the best hotel (Four Seasons Budapest, [...]

Did you miss the squat movement in Berlin in the 90s? Don’t worry, as part of Hungary’s retro revival, some courts managed to survive the aggressive expansion of horrible property development projects in the historical city center.
Szimpla Kertmozi is a partly open-air movie theater, today mostly frequented by university students and other intellectuals. It is [...]
These 2 images were shot for the VFXY weekly theme “reflection”. I missed the deadline though, but I like these images. Because they’re so Austrian to me. This building is part of the Gasometer cluster’s complementary block in Wien.
Well, it’s not exactly Budapest but it could be. The similarities are endless. The differences too. Architecture and history have lot in common in the two cities.

I’m sorry but more Bratislava and Wien photos will follow soon. But for now, this is another photo of a building you’ll certainly meet when you’re in Budapest: the Budapest Opera house, but from an angle most tourists never see. So enjoy.
This is supposed to be a Budapest photos blog, but this is my favorite building in Wien, only appr. 260km from Budapest, and with all the history and existing similarities in architecture I think it’s reasonable to share this photo here. As well as the Bratislava photos.
